@CoachSore Define “average exerciser.” I wouldn’t call the elderly, those under physical therapy, or those with no exercise experience “average.” I’m willing to bet most anyone at the gym could execute these exercises with very little chance of error.

coaches and athletes feel it increases ability to have a long stride, which is associated with good sprinting. so lots of people seem to think yes, try it.
